Maine's Public Universities - University of Maine System

Task Force:

New Challenges, New Directions

In January, University of Maine System Chancellor Richard L. Pattenaude announced his appointment of a 12-person task force to review and recommend operational and structural changes to Maine's 40-year-old, 45,000-student state university system.

The task force has completed their review and a final report was submitted to Chancellor Pattenaude. This report, along with two other ad hoc committee reports, are being submitted to the UMS Board of Trustees at their July 13 meeting (click here to view links to all three reports).

Additional opportunities for public comment will occur as the Chancellor, university presidents, and Board of Trustees consider and act on the report and its recommendations.
