UNIVERSITY SYSTEM BOARD TO MEET IN BANGOR ON APRIL 15
BANGOR - The University of Maine System Board of Trustees will hold a one-day meeting on Friday, April 15, at the UMS office on Maine Avenue in Bangor. Board Chairman Charles L. Wick Johnson III and System Chancellor Joseph W. Westphal scheduled the meeting to cover agenda items that were excluded from the Board's weather-abbreviated one-day session on March 14. Normally the Board does not meet during April.
The agenda will include updates regarding the UMS Strategic Plan and implementation process, and discussion of matters relating to Academic and Student Affairs, Human Resources, and Labor Relations for the University System. Discussion will take place during committee sessions scheduled for Friday morning and afternoon, followed by a meeting of the full Board of Trustees at 2:00 p.m.
Established in 1968, the University of Maine System is the state's largest educational institution, with more than 34,300 students enrolled. It features seven universities - some with multiple campuses - located across the state, as well as 11 University College outreach centers and more than 100 interactive distance education sites.
