Maine's Public Universities - University of Maine System

Letter from the Chancellor

Dear Colleagues,

Over the past few years we have very successfully made the transition from our legacy student enrollment, student records and financial aid systems to Campus Solutions on MaineStreet. This effort was the culmination of a great deal of work by a great many people within the University System, and completes our major implementations on MaineStreet: Human Resources, Financial Management, and now Campus Solutions.

This new technology was approved by our Board of Trustees in 2002, and permits us to keep pace with current and evolving needs in academic administrative computing.  It also ensures that we will be able to continue to serve well our increasingly technologically-savvy students and employees.

Software changes of this magnitude always inflict some growing pains, and the University of Maine System's implementations have been no exception.  Patience and cooperation have been and continue to be necessary and appreciated as we work through these challenges and become adept at using our new technology.

A great deal of credit goes to staff members who have worked diligently for many years to bring these projects to reality, and we are grateful for their efforts.  Thanks to all in the University of Maine System community for your ongoing patience, cooperation, and support of this vital initiative.

Richard Pattenaude
