Go-live date changes for Financial Management
The implementation date for the Financial Management segment of PeopleSoft® has been changed from January 1, 2005 to April 4, 2005.
Preparing for implementation of the next PeopleSoft® modules, in Financial Management and in Student Administration, requires thousands of hours of meticulous planning and development work by the Project Enterprise technical team and trainers, and by many University of Maine System campus personnel. Despite efforts to meet targeted deadlines, it is apparent that more time is needed to accomplish a smooth, successful, and effective transition to the Financial Management module.
The additional three months of development and testing time will allow the technical team to provide a skillfully designed and valid product, and will also enable the training team to construct more accurate, detailed, and up-to-date materials for use by campus trainers.
Although the go-live date has been moved back, training is still ongoing. Classes in "How Business Will Change" are now being offered on the campuses, and will continue during the fall semester. Training in specific Financials-related tasks will begin late in the fall semester and continue until go-live in April.
